In this month's blog post I share 5 useful features you could add to your website to promote visitor engagement. Keep on reading to find out more!
Subscriber Sign Up
Having an email list is a powerful marketing tool. It is a direct line of communication with your audience. Visitors who subscribe to your mailing list WANT to hear from you! This is great news when promoting content. You could use this tool to share your latest products, events, blog posts, news etc. directly to their inbox.
Once you commit to sending out a newsletter, try and do it at least once a month, so your subscribers don't forget about you. But limit the communication to no more than once a week, otherwise it becomes irritating. And irritated subscribers, unsubscribe!
Let's Chat Box
A Let's Chat box generally lives in the bottom right or left hand side corner of your website. It is a tool that is there to communicate instantly with a website visitor. They might have a question which they would like a quick answer to without having to wait too long for a response. This could be the difference in keeping that visitor on your site and engaged in your products/services, vs them exiting your site as they couldn't find what they were looking for.
Pop Up Box
Do you have something you would really like to highlight to any of your website visitors? The pop up box is a great way to do this. You might want to promote an event, subscriber sign ups, or a sale etc. Just keep in mind that some visitors find pop up boxes annoying, so I would suggest only letting it trigger once, when visiting the home page.
Automated Thank You Message
Sending an automated thank you message to visitors who subscribe to your mailing list, or complete a contact form, adds a personal touch. It lets them know you have received their request and will get back to them. This will also prevent visitors from entering their details multiple times, if they are left unsure whether you have received their request. It also gives you the chance to introduce yourself to new subscribers and let them know what kind of content they can expect to receive from you. You want them to feel like they have joined an exclusive club!
